Biography:
The Sakaaran, as seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, are a humanoid alien race native to the planet Sakaar. This planet, appearing in Thor: Ragnarok, exists near several wormholes and is essentially a dumping ground for unwanted beings and objects from across the cosmos.
Sakaarans are typically depicted with thick, rugged skin and varying shades of brown or green. Many serve as gladiators in the Contest of Champions, a brutal spectacle orchestrated by the Grandmaster.
While some Sakaarans seem to be naturally gladiatorial, others, like Korg, are forced into the arena. Their society, as presented in the MCU, is largely defined by survival and entertainment for the Grandmaster and his elite.
One of the species first appearances onscreen was in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), with a Sakaaran soldier working for Ronan the Accuser.
